Four Years After Money & You®
I was taking a walk down memory lane today and stumbled upon one of my many sharings… remembering how much I’ve grown over the years..
Today, 7 July 2008, I feel compelled to share this with you… I had planned to go shopping earlier this evening, but my fingers just couldn’t stop typing until I “complete”. Today serves as a reminder to me when I ask myself
“Why do I do what I do…?”
Four years ago, I started off not really knowing who I am or where I want to go… All I knew was that something was missing in my life and I wanted so badly for something to change but I didn’t know what or how. The road ahead was unclear, there was only one voice that said… follow your heart and trust that the next step will bring you closer to your dreams… and that’s when I chanced upon Money & You®.
I started to see “who I was being” and I didn’t like what I saw. One of the lessons I took home with me when I first did my M&Y in Oct 2004 was from MASTERY… “Correction without Invalidation“. I had actually fallen asleep in this session, and the only thing I remember and take to heart is “Correction without Invalidation”! That was what I first got… and so… that was my journey for the next few months till the next Money & You® even up till today… and I realize that was all that I was ready to handle and the lesson I needed most to get at that time.
WOW… as I write this to you, and it so happens “You Raise Me Up” by Josh Groban is playing in the background I realize… that I do not need to spend another moment wondering what my purpose in life is… why I’m here for. Rather than keep asking myself what is my life purpose – which I may never find out, why not give and live my life with PURPOSE!
I had shared my own journey with my brothers, and it has been both inspiring and empowering to walk this journey with them… Orbiting with them, each at our own pace and yet, in alignment and in harmony. Our next journey together is this coming July 28-30 Instructors’ Training Program. There’s no words that could possibly describe what it has meant to all of us, and no value I could ever put on it. So… if you know of someone in your life you want to share this journey with… share it with them now, as early as possible, whether they choose to come or not, at the very least, you have made that first step… as with my own brothers who have known me since the day I was born, there was no way I could convince them by just telling them about Money & You®… what convinced them, was when they saw the change… in me
The journey may not always be clear — not always smooth sailing, but I’ve learned to enjoy the ride and it’s ups and downs. I’ve learned to stop beating myself up so much… and learned to love myself more. The result for me… is attracting more and more of what I choose to have and experience in my life. I am no longer a “victim” and that kind of freedom is indescribable. For those of you on this journey too… there is so much more to experience in each and every Money & You® flipchart. There were many times when I had my doubts and fears and have been tempted to give up,… I wonder if you’ve been in that place too sometime in your life? And each time I remind myself of my commitment to overcome the very thing that stops me from moving forward — taking ACTION in spite of all my doubts and fears required a whole lot of COURAGE… That’s when I had my Breakthroughs and as in MASTERY… Miracles started to happen.
To all my friends, I invite you to think about where you were before about 4 years ago, and what you are discovering about yourself everyday… I highly encourage you to share your journey with someone whether by talking to them, writing an email, a blog, creating a song… express it in some way. As you share it, you’ll get even more distinctions and wins — the “AHA moments”. The “key” to getting the lessons of Life… is in sharing the lessons.
I had started this email wanting to share flash updates on upcoming M&Y events… And ended up sharing my journeys instead. Thank you for taking the time to read my sharing and giving me this space to share.
