This page is a tribute to the Angels of My Life… living or have passed on to a higher plane of existence who have made a difference in my life by just BEING who they are.

The first person I would like to pay tribute to… is someone whom I’ve never met before and yet has made a great impression on me — he is my paternal grandfather, Wee Joo Seng.

I somehow seem to feel his presence whenever I ask the Great Spirit for Wisdom and Guidance. He has lived his life with greatness, integrity, love, dedication, honour…my father used to tell us stories of how my grandfather lived his life. Strangely, though I didn’t have the opportunity to meet him, I feel that I’ve already known him from long long ago.

Before he passed away, he said to all his children…

“If ever, any of my children or grandchildren and their offsprings were to ever need help — just call my name.”

There were many incidences in our family where miracles happened, events that cannot be explained. I feel extremely blessed, throughout my entire life feeling and knowing that no matter what happens, I will always be safe and always well taken care off.

The second person I would like to pay tribute to is my is my paternal grandmother, Madam Lee Guat Neo… who sacrificed her life for the love of her child, my own father, Victor Wee Choo Hock. She gave her life during childbirth on 5th October 1940, so that my father could live… and so here I am today.

One of our precious family heirloom is my grandmother’s diary… and in her diary she wrote her own prayer which I’d like to share with you, “My Pledge And Promise”

With my Lord helping me

I solemnly declare before Thee and promise:

The Holy Triple Gem I will guard,

And the Precepts I will vigilantly keep through all my life,

And till life’s end, may I faithful be.

The customs of my country and people,

The traditions of my Holy Faith;

The pure ideals and simple courtesies, kindly and true,

Which came from the Noblest and my forefathers,

I vow to keep and cherish.

None will I seek to harm

By thought, word or deed.

But ever seeking goodwill and peace to keep

With all whatsoever creed or race they may be.

To beasts and birds and all such young ones

Of earth’s great family, they are one life with me.

Faithfully will I seek my country’s good;

Remembering that as I live my life well

And bring happiness to others,

My country shares that happiness with me,

And this sharing enriches life, the whole worldwide.

To do all I profess,

With the aid of the Triple Gem Supreme,

I pledge that I will faithfully be,

With my Lord helping me.

I was reminded of this prayer, and looking at where I am today… it is no wonder that I had been born to the Wee Family, and why I chose the path that I’m on today.

The third person whom I’d like to dedicate this page to is my maternal grandmother, Madam Tan Geok Lian. She was the only grandparent I had the opportunity to meet and spend a great many treasured times with her. She was the embodiment of strength, wit, wisdom, a woman of substance,… she single handledly raised 7 children and many many grandchildren, and even lived to see her great-grandchildren. I learned from my grandmother… the value of commitment to excellence, of taking full responsibility for my life, doing whatever it takes… she seemed to know everything even though she couldn’t speak English, nor read, nor write. She was very astute and had the uncanny ability to know what would happen, even before it happens! I always remember her for her green fingers which she had passed down to all her 5 daughters… and they too inherited her gift of cooking some of the most delicious meals ever created (in my opinion). It was also because of my grandmother, I developed my love for cats…

I feel truly blessed to be surrounded by Greatness… and I’d like to invite you to think about the Angels around you who have Touched Your Life…
